Choosing a Balanced Granola Bar for Your Child

March 16, 2023

As parents, we always want to ensure that our children are eating healthy and nutritious snacks throughout the day. Granola bars are a popular option for a quick and convenient snack, but many of them are loaded with added sugar and lack the necessary fiber and protein. Fortunately, there are plenty of low-sugar, high-fiber, and protein granola bars that are perfect for your child’s snack time. Here are some of the best options:

  1. KIND Kids Granola Bars: These granola bars are specifically designed for kids and come in flavors such as chocolate chip and honey oat. They have only 5 grams of sugar per bar and are made with whole grains and no artificial colors, flavors, or preservatives. They also contain 2 grams of protein and 3 grams of fiber per bar, making them a great option for a satisfying and healthy snack.
  2. RXBAR Kids: These granola bars are made with just a few simple ingredients, such as egg whites, dates, and nuts. They have no added sugar and are gluten-free, soy-free, and dairy-free. Each bar contains 7 grams of protein and 3 grams of fiber, making them a great option for a filling and nutritious snack.
  3. Clif Kid Zbar Protein: These granola bars are made with organic ingredients and have 5 grams of protein and 3 grams of fiber per bar. They come in flavors such as chocolate chip and peanut butter chocolate and have only 5 grams of sugar per bar. They are also free of high fructose corn syrup and artificial flavors.
  4. Annie’s Organic Granola Bars: These granola bars are made with organic ingredients and have no artificial colors, flavors, or preservatives. They come in flavors such as chocolate chip and oatmeal cookie and have only 8 grams of sugar per bar. They also contain 2 grams of protein and 2 grams of fiber per bar.
  5. Nature’s Bakery Whole Wheat Fig Bars: While not technically a granola bar, these fig bars are a great option for a low-sugar, high-fiber snack. They are made with whole wheat flour and have no high fructose corn syrup, artificial colors, or flavors. Each bar contains 2 grams of fiber and 2 grams of protein, and they come in flavors such as blueberry and raspberry.

When choosing a granola bar for your child’s snack, it’s important to look for options that are low in sugar, high in fiber, and contain some protein. These options will help keep your child feeling full and satisfied while providing them with the necessary nutrients for growth and development.
